Seven members of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association champion Hope College women’s track & field team have earned all-league honors for the 2019 season.

Mitchel Achien’g, Addyson Gerig, Chelsea Miskelley and Hayley Scollard earned their spots by each winning individual events at last week’s MIAA Field Day.

Nicole Kruithof, Sally Hansma and Allison VanderStoep claimed their all-league honors by teaming with Miskelley for a first-place 4x400 relay.

Gerig repeated as MIAA champion in the high jump. The junior from Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS) cleared a 1.53 meters (5 feet, 0 ¼ inch) and won a first-place tiebreaker with fewer misses.

Achien’g took first in the 100-meter hurdles. The junior from Nairobi, Kenya (Kisumu) clocked a time of 15.75 seconds.

Scollard recorded the fastest run in the 400-meter hurdles. The freshman from Traverse City, Michigan (T.C. Central) finished in 1:08.36.

Miskelley won the 800 meters. The junior from Holland, Michigan (Black River) recorded a time of 2:17.28.

Miskelley also anchored the 4x400 relay that posted a first-place effort of 4:05.89.

VanderStoep is a senior from Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa). Hansma is a junior from Grand Rapids, Michigan (Jenison). Kruithof is a junior from Byron Center, Michigan (South Christian).
