Hope College’s Sydney Jackson has been named the 2019 NCAA Division III Central Region Women’s Tennis Rookie to Watch by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

The freshman from Fort Wayne, Indiana (Carroll HS)  is one of four regional honorees from across the country.

Jackson posted a 23-2 singles record this season while playing the third flight for the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association champion Flying Dutch.

She also played No. 2 doubles with partner Taylor LaBarge and finished with a 21-8 record.

Jackson helped Hope reach the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament, win the MIAA Tournament for a league-record eighth consecutive time and claim fifth regular-season MIAA title in a row.

The ITA’s national award winners will be announced on May 20.

Other ITA Regional Rookies of the Year are:
