Hope College’s Ana Tucker has been selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

The sophomore exercise science major from Midland, Michigan (H.H. Dow HS) is claiming the award for the first time as an outdoor athlete. Tucker previously had been recognized as MIAA Track Athlete of the Week twice as an individual and once as a relay.

Tucker clocked the third-fastest time in the 1,500 meters at the Grand Valley State University Al Owens Classic last weekend.

Her time of 4 minutes, 32.94 seconds was surpassed only by two runners from Western Michigan University.

Tucker came within 1.12 seconds of the school record set in 2014 by Sheri McCormack.
