Hope College second baseman Arinn King is the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Position Player of the Week.

The junior exercise science major from Hudsonville, Michigan (Hudsonville HS) is receiving the honor for the first time in her career after helping the Flying Dutch win five of six games last week and clinch a share of an MIAA championship.

King batted .360 last week with four multi-hit games against Saint Mary’s College, Albion College and Trine University. She homered in each of the final three games of the week, including twice on Saturday against first-place Trine.

King also delivered a walk-off RBI double for a 7-6, extra-inning victory in Game 1.

In all, King totaled six runs batted in and scored four runs. She also collected 16 putouts and eight assists without committing an error.
