Hope College’s Bailey Chorney has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week.
The senior business and Spanish double major from Waunakee, Wisconsin (Waunakee HS) is receiving the honor for the first time.
Chorney is recognized after scoring two points for the Flying Dutch during their 8-1 victory at home against Kalamazoo College on Friday.
At No. 3 singles, Chorney topped Kalamazoo’s Sophie Zhuang in straight sets 6-2, 6-0.
At No. 2 doubles, Chorney paired with freshman Annika Weeber of Rockford, Michigan (Grand Rapids Christian) for an 8-5 victory against Kalamazoo’s Caroline Norton and Renee Torres.
