Hope College running back Daniel Romano has been chosen to the D3Football Team of the Week.

The junior biomedical and bioelectrical engineering major from Royal Oak, Michigan (Shrine Catholic HS) is honored for his career-high, 244-yard rushing performance during a 19-7 victory against Adrian College on Saturday at Ray and Smith Smith Stadium.

Romano sealed the win that kept the Flying Dutchmen unbeaten in MIAA play by scoring on a 38-yard touchdown run with 1 minute, 23 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.

On 27 carries, Romano recorded the ninth-highest single-game rushing effort in Hope history.

Romano equaled Mason Opple’s 2018 effort on the ground against Olivet College and Dan Bloemers’ 2003 rushing game against Tri-State University (now Trine University).

This is Romano’s first D3football weekly honor.
