The Hope College men's lacrosse team swept Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Athlete of the Week honors, with midfielder Luke Elder for offense and goalie Ian Bosman for defense.

Elder, pictured at right, and Bosman, pictured below, helped the Flying Dutchmen defeat third-seeded Calvin University and top-seeded Albion College last week to win the MIAA tournament and clinch the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Elder scored 13 goals over the two games. The senior communication major from Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS) tied an MIAA Tournament record with seven goals during a 19-13 victory at Albion on Friday.

Against Calvin, Elder totaled six goals during a 22-7 semifinal victory.

This is Elder's first MIAA Athlete of the Week award.

Bosman collected 24 saves over two times, including 15 with a .536 save percentage during the title game against Albion.

The junior biomedical and biomechanical engineering major from Centennial, Colorado (Cherry Creek) made nine saves with a .692 save percentage against Calvin.

This is Bosman's second MIAA Athlete of the Week honor of the season and his career.
