Hope College men's basketball student-athlete Evan Thomas has been chosen to the 2021 College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District® Basketball Teams.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late May.

Thomas among five Academic All-District® honorees from District 6 that includes schools from Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.

The sophomore biology major at Hope scored a career-high 13.7 points per game this season as a forward for the Flying Dutchmen.

In 12 games, Thomas averaged a career-high 32.2 minutes per game. He also recorded career-highs in rebounds at 8.3 per game and assists at 2.4. Hope finished with a 7-5 overall record and reached the MIAA Tournament semifinals.

The Division III CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Divisions III Academic All-America® programs.
