Hope College attacker Michael Mann and defender Tucker Martinez have been chosen as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men’s Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week.

Mann claimed the MIAA honor on offense, while Martinez received the defensive award.

Mann helped the Flying Dutchmen win their MIAA Tournament quarterfinal by scoring four goals and recording two assists during a 24-3 victory against visiting Adrian College on Saturday.

The freshman from Plymouth, Michigan (Detroit Jesuit) also recorded three ground balls and one caused turnover.

Hope’s 24 goals tied for the second-most in MIAA Tournament history.

This is Mann’s first weekly award from the MIAA.

Martinez anchored a Flying Dutchmen defense that equaled its own record for fewest goals allowed in an MIAA Tournament game.

The junior public accounting major from Zeeland, Michigan (Zeeland West) collected six caused turnovers and scooped up three ground balls against Adrian.

This is Martinez’s first weekly award from the MIAA
