Hope College forward Sarah Mikesell is the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Soccer Athlete of the Week.
The senior nursing major from Norton Shores, Michigan (Mona Shores HS) scored three goals over matches during victories against Olivet College and Kalamazoo College last week.
Against Kalamazoo, Mikesell scored Hope’s final two goals, including the game-winner, during a 3-1 MIAA Tournament first-round victory on Saturday at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.
Against Olivet, Mikesell scored the Flying Dutch’s second goal during a 2-0 victory at Van Andel Soccer Stadium.
Mikesell has 13 goals for the season, a career-high and tying for seventh-most in a Hope single season with Dawn Gillam (2002) and Tracy Phelps (1993).
