Three members of the Hope College men’s tennis team have earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete distinction for the 2020-21 school year: Cameron Coates, Justin Fay, and Tyler Koran.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:
- have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.
- be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
Coates is a sophomore from Stevensville, Michigan (Laurel Springs HS) who earned All-Michigan
Intercollegiate Athletic Association First Team honors last spring. The computer science
major played matches at No. 2 singles, No. 2 doubles, and No. 3 doubles for the Flying
Dutchmen.
Koran is a sophomore from Salinas, California (Salinas). The exercise science major
played matches at No. 3 singles, No. 4 singles, No. 2 doubles, and No. 3 doubles for
Hope.
Fay is a freshman from Naperville, Illinois (St. Francis) who played matches at No.
6 singles for the Flying Dutchmen.
