Hope College’s Tyler Stafford has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week.

The sophomore from Grand Rapids, Michigan (Grand Rapids Christian HS) is receiving the honor for the first time after winning both of his singles and doubles matches for the Flying Dutchmen during a 6-3 loss to North Central (Illinois) on Saturday at home.

At No. 4 singles, Stafford topped Andy Hinch in three sets (2-6, 6-4, 6-3).

At No. 3 doubles, Stafford paired with Paul Washington for an 8-4 victory against Morgan Red and Justin Howes.
