Hope College's Conner Halberg has been chosen as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week.

The freshman from Novi, MI (Northville HS) is claiming the honor for the third time this season and in his career after helping the men's swim and dive team to a victory over Kalamazoo College, 192-83.

Halberg set a new school record in the 200-yard freestyle, as he clocked a time of 1:38.94 to take home first place in the event. That time and Hope College record currently puts him with the 10th fastest time in the 200-yard freestyle in the NCAA Division III for this season. Halberg eclipsed Daniel Keith's previous record of 1:40.21, which was set in 2019.

The three-time Athlete of the Week recipient also helped the 400-yard freestyle relay grab 1st place with a time of 3:06.82.
