For the second consecutive time, Hope College’s Nick Hoffman is the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men’s Track Athlete of the Week.

The senior from Holland, Michigan (Holland HS) is receiving the indoor honor for the fourth time in his career.

Hoffman clocked a school record in the 800-meter run on Friday at the Grand Valley State University Bill Clinger Classic.

The public accounting major recorded a converted time of 1 minute, 53.67 seconds on GVSU’s oversized track. Hoffman eclipsed the previous Hope record of 1:55.27 held by Joel Rietsema since 2012.

Hoffman also anchored the Flying Dutchmen’s 4x400 relay that placed fourth with a time of 3:27.44.
