Hope College’s Saydee Johns is the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week.
The senior from Holland, Michigan (Holland HS) is receiving the honor for the first time.
Johns earned a team-high three points over three matches for the Flying Dutch last week.
During a 6-3 win against Oberlin College (Ohio) on Friday, Johns served up a 6-3, 7-6 (2) win at No. 4 singles.
The education and special education major also paired with junior Taylor Truman for an 8-7 (4) win at No. 2 doubles against Oberlin.
Johns and Truman also earned Hope’s point on Saturday during an 8-1 loss to Case Western Reserve University (Ohio) with an 8-6 victory at No. 2 doubles.
