The 37th annual Hope College Musical Showcase will be presented on Friday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts.

The concert features more than 275 Hope students performing in the Department of Music’s major instrumental and vocal ensembles, as well as soloists who won a competition in November 2025.

Hope College students take the stage for this fast-paced, musical spectacular, delivering entertainment from art songs to jazz for audience members. 

Tickets are $15 for regular admission, $10 for senior citizens and Hope faculty and staff, $5 for children ages 18 and younger, and free for Hope students. Tickets are available at the ticket office in the Events and Conferences Office located in downtown Holland in the Anderson-Werkman Financial Center (100 E. Eighth St.). The ticket office is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be called at 616-395-7890. Tickets are also available online at hope.edu/tickets.

Vocal performances include: sophomore Sophie Mazur-Batistoni of Lapeer singing “Astonishing,” from Little Women by Jason Howland; senior Tommy Korff of Vicksburg singing “Stars” from Les Misérables by Claude-Michel Schönberg; senior Jackson Hagood singing “The Children,” by Benjamin Britten; junior Bella Morales of Yorkville, Illinois, singing “Somewhere,” from West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein; senior Katherine Nelson of Virginia Beach, Virginia, singing “L’heure exquise,” by Reynaldo Hahn; and junior Kyle Spiegel of Wheaton, Illinois, singing “Everybody Says Don’t,” from Anyone Can Whistle by Stephen Sondheim. The singers will be accompanied by collaborative pianists Christina Giuca Krause and Jane Bosko, along with Hope student Kellen Woolhiser.

The program continues with: a piano solo by junior Kellen Woolhiser of Bay City performing “Ballade,” by Johannes Brahms; a clarinet solo by senior Malory Neebes of Fort Wayne, performing “Furioso,” by Malcolm Arnold; and a classical guitar solo by Charlene Yen Xin Chia of Selangor, Malaysia, performing “Evocacion” and “Carnavalito,” by Jose Luis Merlin. Organ solos include sophomore Joseph Schmiedicke of Greenville playing “Prelude and Fugue in E minor,” by J.S. Bach, and junior Sam Shuler of Holt playing “Sinfonia from Cantata No. 29,” by J.S. Bach.

The featured large vocal ensembles include: the Chapel Choir, conducted by Eric Reyes, singing “Kasa mie la gaji,” by Alberto Grau; VERITAS, also conducted by Reyes, singing “Come and Go to That Land,” a traditional spiritual arranged by Brandon Waddles; and SPERA, conducted by Pamela Pierson, singing “So Many Angels,” arranged by Gwyneth Walker.

The featured instrumental ensembles include Hope’s concert band, conducted by Anand Raj Sukumaran, playing “Amparito Roca,” by Jaime Texidor; the orchestra, conducted by  Samuel Pang, playing “Great Gate of Kiev” from Pictures at an Exhibition, by Modest Mussorgsky; and the Jazz Arts Collective, conducted by Robert Shipley, playing “The Big Boot,” by Kenny Drew.
