About
The Hope College Virtual Center for Teaching and Learning, resourced by the Office of the Provost, supports faculty and staff as they develop integrated, purpose-filled careers as teacher-scholar-mentors working to prepare students for lives of leadership and service.
We do this through community-centered, collaborative and multidisciplinary programs designed to promote rich and engaged teaching and learning experiences in classrooms, online and across departments.
Goals
Collaboration
The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) strives to create a collaborative environment that supports faculty and staff in developing engaging and effective teaching and learning experiences. To achieve this goal, we provide a range of resources and services aimed at promoting research-based teaching strategies and innovative approaches to teaching.
Professional Development
Through our in-person training programs and regularly scheduled workshops, faculty and staff can learn about the latest campus-supported technologies and emerging teaching trends. Additionally, we offer personalized consultation services to support individual faculty members, communities of practice and entire departments in achieving their teaching goals and feeling confident and satisfied in their teaching practice.
Supportive Environment
We are dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive environment that empowers faculty and staff to excel in their teaching and enhance the learning experiences of all students at Hope College.
