CDI Events
- Diversity Lecture Series

The Diversity Lectures Series features distinguished leaders and experts in diversity and inclusion, with a focus on research and scholarship (five per year).
- Step2Success Pre-Orientation Program

Step2Succes Pre-orientation Program — Incoming students of color and their families arrive two days early to gain a jump start on the academic experience, establish networks of support and develop a greater sense of community during their transition to Hope College.
- Community Conversations

Community Conversations are opportunities for the Hope community to discuss and engage in relevant interdisciplinary topics on diversity, equity and inclusion. These conversations are aimed to create greater awareness about societal issues that impact the success of students.
- Mentoring

Provide one-on-one and group mentoring opportunities for students, both formally and informally. This includes a network of professional community leaders who volunteer their time, expertise, experience and networks to support the growth and success of students.

This program is designed to create pathways to careers in healthcare for minority students.
- Diversity Institute

The Diversity Institute is a series of five workshops offered every semester, including summer. The goal is to empower students, faculty and staff to become advocates and leaders of equity and inclusion.
- Leadership Empowerment Program

Partnership with the Boerigter Center for Calling and Career to support students career development plan and job opportunities. We'd like to thank Herman Miller, Gentex, Lambert Company, Mercantile Bank, Spectrum Health, Steelcase and Meijer Corporation for their ongoing support.

The Black Student Union Black Excellence Dinner celebrates the leadership, achievement and outstanding contributions of African American students, alumni, faculty, staff and community leaders, with a special focus on sankofa (look back and bring others forward with you) and kujichagulia (self-determination).
