Take the next exit, 47B, which is also a left exit, and follow Business Routes 196 and 31.

You will now be heading north on Washington Avenue, a commercial street, and the cross-streets will be numbered in descending order. (The name of this street will become Michigan Avenue and then River Avenue as you proceed north.)

Continue on this four-lane street for 2.3 miles to 12th Street and turn right (east) on 12th Street. There is a park on this corner.

Continue east on 12th Street for 1.5 blocks to the parking lot on your left just before the large red-brick building, which is the A. Paul Schaap Science Center. Parking is available in this parking lot or on the street.
