Why do I love Hope?
Two of David's children have graduated from Hope (classes of ’14 and ’15) and he currently has one daughter at Hope, graduating in 2017. His youngest daughter will be a freshman in the fall of 2016. Seven years ago, David and his wife, Michelle, fell in love with Hope on their first visit with their oldest — the campus, the students, the staff and the downtown Holland area make this a great place to spend four years of your life! Having multiple kids that chose Hope extended their reason to visit often.
When the opportunity arose to join the admissions team, it was a no-brainer. David loves talking about the great opportunities Hope has provided his kids. No other college can meet its excellent academics, Christian character and leadership opportunities for young people.
Outside the College
David loves to bike and swim. He competed in triathlons — sprint, full and half distance — until a knee replacement in fall 2013, which means he's no longer running. Still on his bucket list, though, is to complete a full IronMan triathlon. (He'll have to walk the marathon portion of the race.)
At his church, David is a worship leader, guitar player and men's small group leader.
