Jody Sheldon
Office ManagerJody Sheldon has a long history of service to students at Hope College. She began her career in 1998 working with student accounts in Business Services. After 2 years she moved to the CAPS office, where she continues to serve as office manager. Jody guides students through the process of meeting with a counselor - from their first point of contact with the office to scheduling and follow up. This is especially important for those who have no experience with counseling or need immediate support while in distress. Jody is an integral part in managing counselor schedules, and is instrumental in ensuring that students are able to be seen by their counselors. Jody is invaluable to the general functioning of the office and is responsible for the efficient provision of services.
Additionally, Jody enthusiastically coordinates the wildly popular West Michigan Therapy Dogs, who visit campus every semester during final exams. She also eagerly awaits the annual fall trip to Chicago with SAC, which she has chaperoned for many years.
Jody is a member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals and attended one of the organization's yearly conferences. In July 2023, Jody reached the milestone of 25 years of service at Hope College.
Why I Love Hope
Jody loves the Hope students and especially getting to know them. The Hope family of coworkers and community make the campus such a special place for her to call home.
