    IMAGES 2018 Photos

    “IMAGES: A Reflection of Cultures” took place on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Knickerbocker Theatre. An international showcase and cuisine provided a sampling of cultural heritage from around the world. The showcase featured an array of skits, dance, song and other clips of culture and language. More than 60 students participated from several countries.

    Student Research Honored at National Engineering Conference

    For the third consecutive year, a Hope College student won an award at the Annual Meeting and National Student Conference of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). A total of six Hope College students who participated in research this past summer had their work selected for presentation during the conference.

    Original Dance Piece by Matthew Farmer Earns Finalist Recognition

    Choreographer Matthew Farmer of the Hope College dance faculty has earned recognition as a finalist for the 2018 Arlin G. Meyer Prize in Performing Arts sponsored by the Lilly Fellows Program in Humanities and the Arts for his original work “Dieser Ort.”

    Hope Jazz Groups to Present Concerts on Nov. 14 and Nov. 20

    Several Hope College jazz ensembles will present concerts on two different nights. Four different jazz chamber ensembles will perform on Wednesday, Nov. 14, and the Jazz Arts Collective and Jazz Organ Trio will perform on Tuesday, Nov. 20. Both concerts will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the John and Dede Howard Recital Hall of the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts.

    “One Night Only” Film Series Featuring Jimmy Stewart to Begin Nov. 19

    The Hope College Knickerbocker Theatre will show four films featuring Jimmy Stewart during its “One Night Only” series every Monday from Nov. 19 to Dec. 10 at 7:30 p.m. The series will screen “Harvey,” “Rear Window,” “The Shop Around the Corner” and “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

    Five From Hope Football Earn All-MIAA First Team Recognition

    Five of the Hope College football team’s impact players have received 2018 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association First Team honors from the league’s coaches: defensive back Kimani Dooley, defensive lineman Ian Gorgenson, defensive end Tate Knapp, quarterback Mason Opple and offensive lineman Zach Smith.
