    2019 Black Excellence Dinner Photo Gallery

    On Friday, November 8, 2019 the Hope College Black Student Union celebrated the achievements and value of black faculty, staff and students, both past and present, at the annual Black Excellence Dinner. The campus-wide event honored Dr. Samara Gibson '05, Dr. Matthew Wixson '08 and associate provost Dr. Gerald Griffin.

    A sampling of cultural heritage from around the world was featured during Hope College’s “IMAGES: A Reflection of Cultures” showcase on Saturday, Nov. 9. The international showcase featured an array of skits, dance, song and other clips of culture and language. More than 60 students participated from several countries.

    “One Night Only” Film Series Featuring Barbara Stanwyck Begins Nov. 25

    The Hope College Knickerbocker Theatre will show four films featuring Barbara Stanwyck during its “One Night Only” series every Monday from Nov. 25 to Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. The series will screen “Stella Dallas,” “Ball of Fire,” “Double Indemnity” and “Christmas in Connecticut.”

    “Last Lecture” on Nov. 11 to Explore “Adventure, Purpose, Service”

    Dale Austin, who is associate dean with the Boerigter Center for Calling and Career at Hope College, will present the address “Off the Record: Adventure, Purpose, Service” on Monday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. in Winants Auditorium of Graves Hall through the “Last Lecture Series” organized by the college’s chapter of the national Mortar Board honorary society.

    Nykerk 2019 Photo Gallery

    The Even Year Class of 2022 won the 2019 Nykerk competition. One of Hope College's longest-running traditions, freshmen and sophomore women compete in three different arenas: song, play and oration. Junior and senior coaches arrange the music, write the plays and guide the orators as they craft seven-minute monologues.
