Alumni Privileges
We know your need for the library may not end when you graduate, so we’d like to support the continued use of resources you relied upon as a student.
Library Card
- To obtain a library card, fill out a Fee-Exempt Registration form at the circulation desk on the first floor. You must have a driver’s license or other government issue ID. Cards limited to 18 years or older
Item Limits
- You may borrow up to 50 items at a time
- Different material types have different loan periods
- If you lose an item or keep it past its due date, overdue fines and other restrictions will apply
- Borrowing privileges are suspended when any money is owed to the library
Renewing Items
- Log into your account in the library catalog to renew materials yourself
- For assistance, call 616.395.7905 or bring the item to the circulation desk and we will renew it for you. Some items may be non-renewable if they have reached the renewal limit, been requested by another patron, or are a resource type that is non-renewable
Placing Holds
- Placing holds on materials prevents anyone else from renewing or borrowing them
- To place a hold on an item yourself, find it in the library catalog, sign in and click the Request This button
- To have us place a hold for you, call 616.395.7905 or ask at the circulation desk

- Limited use of the library computers (you may use computers on the 1st floor for library research when logged in by Research Help Desk staff)
- Electronic Resources are unavailable off campus; you may access them by visiting Van Wylen Library
- No Interlibrary Loan privileges (you may request materials through MeL)
