Junior center Amanda Kerkstra of Grandville, Mich. (Calvin Christian HS) has been named the MIAA women's basketball player of the week for the fourth time in her career.

Junior center Amanda Kerkstra of Grandville, Mich. (Calvin Christian HS) has been named the MIAA women's basketball player of the week for the fourth time in her career.

Last week she had three consecutive double-double efforts as the Flying Dutch posted three victories to remain undefeated.

In an 88-72 victory at Illinois Benedictine, Kerkstra scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. She was chosen the most valuable player as Hope won its own Subway Shootout, scoring 17 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in a 73-59 victory over previously undefeated Case-Western Reserve, Ohio and then in a 70-62 win over Spring Arbor tallied 20 points and hauled down 13 boards.

For the week she made 19-of-43 shots, blocked four shots and was credited with eight steals.

She was chosen the league's most valuable player a year ago and achieved Division III All-America distinction.
