Hope senior Josh Boss of Jenison, Mich. (Jenison HS) has been named the national NCAA Division III male swimmer of the week byCollege Swimming.com.

The defending national Division III breaststroke champion, Boss won both events at the Wheaton Invitational last weekend for the fourth consecutive year.

He qualified for nationals in both the 100 (:57.04) and 200 (2:04.01) while swimming with a cast on his right arm after suffering a broken wrist in practice recently. He is also coming off a shoulder injury that sidelined him most of the pre-season.

Boss was chosen the Division III swimmer of the year as a junior. He is the three-time defending national champion in the 200-yard breaststroke and has won the NCAA gold twice in the 100-yard breaststroke, including a year ago. He holds the Division III record in both events, :54.69 in the 100 and 1:58.90 in the 200.
