The Hope College Symphonette will present a farewell concert on Monday, May 5, at 7 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel in anticipation of the group's forthcoming tour of England and Wales.

The Hope College Symphonette will present a farewell concert on Monday, May 5, at 7 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel in anticipation of the group's forthcoming tour of England and Wales.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

The Symphonette performs under the direction of Richard Piippo.

Hope College faculty member Huw Lewis will join the May 6-17 tour as organist and guest artist, performing the "Concerto for Organ, Strings, and Timpani" by Francis Poulenc and Alfred Fedak's "Invocation and Dance for Organ, Strings and Percussion." Fedak is a 1975 Hope graduate from Albany, N.Y.

Other works on the program will include Gioachino Rossini's "Semiramide Overture"; "L'Arlesienne, Suite No. 2," by Georges Bizet; and Antonio Vivaldi's concerto "The Four Seasons," for violin and strings, with Joseph Deller as soloist. Deller is a Hope senior from Dearborn.

Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located on College Avenue at 12th Street.
