Two Hope athletes have been honored as MIAA players of the week.
Senior outside hitter Katie Hall of Holland (West Ottawa HS) is the MIAA volleyball player of the week. Hall keyed a pair of conference victories last week as the Flying Dutch moved into second place in the standings with a 2-1 mark.
In a five-game victory at Adrian, she was credited with 41 kills, 12 digs and three service aces. She followed in a three-game win over defending champion Alma with 19 kills and 12 digs.
Freshman goalkeeper Holly Nestle of Mason (Mason HS) is the MIAA women's soccer defensive player of the week.
Nestle recorded a pair of shutouts as the Flying Dutch won a pair of conference games last week to remain undefeated on the season. Hope posted 4-0 victories over Olivet and Calvin with Nestle credited with 15 saves. She has allowed just one goal in five games this season.
