Tickets go on sale on Monday, Dec. 8, for a concert by Dove Award nominees Caedmon's Call at Hope College in January.
Caedmon's Call will perform through the Hope College Christian Music Series on Saturday, Jan. 10, at 9 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.
The six-piece group, an eclectic, folk-influenced band, has created a large following across the nation, particularly on the college circuit. To date, Caedmon's Call has accumulated more than one million career record sales, has garnered six number-one radio singles and has been nominated for 10 Dove Awards. The group has been touring recently with Jars of Clay, which appeared at Hope College last year.
The band's fifth and latest release, "Back Home," continues where the group's previous albums left off, with powerful and introspective lyrics in each of its songs. Drummer Todd Bragg said, "Although it's a reflective album, 'Back Home' also signifies a new era for Caedmon's Call... one that's full of hope and adventure."
Tickets will be available at the Student Development Office in the DeWitt Center, and are $20 for the general public and Hope faculty and staff. They are $15 for Hope students who present a valid student ID, with a limit of one per student.
The DeWitt Center is located on Columbia Avenue at 12th Street. The Student Development Office is on the building's main floor, and is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office can be called at (616) 395-7942. Because of the holiday season, however, the office will be closed from Wednesday, Dec. 24, through Thursday, Jan. 1.
Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located on College Avenue at 12th Street.
The concert is being sponsored by the student Social Activities Committee in conjunction with Hope's Student Congress. Additional information regarding Caedmon's Call may be found at the band's Web site, www.caedmonscall.com.
