Two Hope athletes have been named MIAA players of the week -- Jake Schrock in football and Karter Klingenberg in soccer.
Hope senior receiver Jake Schrock of Clarkville (Lakewood HS) is the MIAA offensive
player of the week for the second consecutive week. In a 29-16 victory over Kalamazoo,
he caught five passes totaling 153 yards including one for a touchdown covering 41
yards. Through four games, Schrock has eight touchdown receptions and is averaging
30.2 yards per catch (17 for 513 yards).
Hope junior forward Karter Klingenberg of Holland (Holland Christian HS) scored what
proved to be the winning goal in a pair of league victories, first in a 3-0 victory
over Adrian and then in a 2-0 win against Albion. He is being honored for the second
time in his career.
