The evening "Collage Concert" scheduled at Hope College for Thursday, Oct. 6, will take place as planned even though the event from which it grew will not.

The concert, featuring all of the college's major music ensembles, as well as selected soloists, will be held on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

Because of low registration, the college's Arts and Humanities Fair scheduled for earlier in the day for high school students will not be held. With the cancellation of the fair, an 11 a.m. version of the concert will not be presented.

The Jazz Ensemble, Wind Symphony, Symphonette, Collegium Musicum, Women's Choir and Chapel Choir will all be featured in the evening performance. The concert will also feature several students as soloists and in smaller ensembles.

The performers will include: junior Lea Blackney of Troy, cello, and sophomore Chris Turbessi of Nunica, piano; junior Jeff Brown of Colts Neck, N.J., tuba; sophomore Alana O'Bryan of Bloomfield Hills, piano; Chris Turbessi, piano; freshman Alexandru Hamzea of Brasov, Romania, violin; senior Sarah Blankenship of Hoffman Estates, Ill., soprano, and senior Lisa Walters of Channahon, Ill., piano. In addition, a flute quartet consisting of senior Laura Arpke of Clarkston, sophomore Rachel Daley of Cleveland, Ohio, junior Amanda Danielson of Alto and senior Amy Kurkiewicz of Rochester Hills will also perform.

Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located at 277 College Avenue, on the corner of 12th Street and College Avenue.
