Traditional Japanese music will be featured during a concert at Hope College on Monday, Oct. 22, at 7:30 p.m. in Wichers Auditorium of Nykerk Hall of Music.

The concert will be presented by Michael Chikuzen Gould, Chieko Iwazaki and Kodi Iwazaki.  The three performers will also present the lecture-demonstration "Introduction to Japanese Music:  Gender, History, Spirituality, and Aesthetics" earlier in the day, on Monday, Oct. 22, at 1 p.m. in Wichers Auditorium.

The public is invited to both the concert and the lecture-demonstration.  Admission is free.

The events are co-sponsored by multiple programs at Hope, including Hope's Asian Perspective Association (HAPA) student group, the Japan Club, the Department of Music, the Women's Studies program and the Cultural Affairs Committee.

Nykerk Hall of Music is located in the central Hope campus, along the former 12th Street between College and Columbia avenues.
