Ten Hope College athletic teams have been presented the 2007-08 Team GPA Award by the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA).

The award is presented to conference teams who achieved a 3.300 or better grade point average during the entire academic year.

This program, now in its tenth year, is administered by the Faculty Athletic Representatives of the MIAA member colleges.

The women's cross country team (3.542 gpa), coached by Mark Northuis, has received the honor for the tenth consecutive year.

For the second consecutive year, the men's golf team, coached by Robert Ebels, had the highest GPA (3.475) among all MIAA men's teams.

Other teams honored include women's track, 3.461 (coached by Kevin Cole); women's tennis, 3.428 (coached by Karen Page); softball, 3.401 (coached by Karla Wolters); women's golf, 3.380 (coached by Eva Dean Folkert); men's tennis, 3.351 (coached by Steve Gorno); women's basketball, 3.334 (coached by Brian Morehouse); women's soccer, 3.333 (coached by Leigh Sears); and women's swimming & diving, 3.323 (coached by John Patnott).

Across the MIAA, a total of 49 teams received the 07-08 Team GPA award.  Hope's 10 team honorees tops all member schools followed by Calvin 9, Albion 8, Kalamazoo 6, Olivet 5, Adrian 4, Alma 4, Saint Mary's 2 and Tri-State 1.
