The 2011-12 Hope College men's golf team has been named a Division III All-Academic Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

The 2011-12 Hope College men's golf team has been named a Division III All-Academic Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

The Flying Dutchmen, coached by Bob Ebels, achieved a 3.367 cumulatibe grade point average during the 2011-12 school year. The team was earlier named to the Academic Honor Roll of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA).

The national program is sponsored by Farmers Insurance Group. Teams needed to achieve a GPA of 3.00 or higher to be named to the Honor Roll. The honorees numbered just 27 teams out of the more than 400 teams who compete in NCAA Division III. Joining Hope on the list from the MIAA is Albion.

This honor bring to 12 the number of Hope teams named to national academic honor rolls in 2011-12, joining men's and women's cross country, women's soccer, volleyball, men's and women's swimming & diving, women's basketball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track & field and women's golf.

Earlier, recent graduates Nick Campbell (Saline/Saline HS) and Andy Thomson (Beaver Dam, Wisc./Central Wisc. Christian HS) were named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
