Hope College’s Erin Herrmann will compete in this weekend’s NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in Grinnell, Iowa.

The junior from Wheaton, Illinois (Wheaton-Warrenville South HS) has qualified in the 3,000-meter run. She is the first Hope student-athlete to compete at the indoor national meet.

Herrmann will race on Saturday at approximately 4:40 p.m. Central.

Herrmann recorded a time of 9 minutes, 58.08 seconds to advance to nationals. She is seeded 17th.

Herrmann is one of two female student-athletes from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association to make it to indoor nationals. Trine thrower Kara Eck is the other.

Herrmann claimed the 3,000-meter title at the inaugural MIAA indoor championships last month. She also earned All-MIAA honors.
