Hope College’s Josh Gibson has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men’s Golfer of the Week for competition through September 17.
The sophomore from Grandville, Michigan (Grandville HS) averaged 69.7 strokes over 54 holes of play last week to earn his first weekly MIAA recognition from the MIAA.
Gibson claimed medalist honors while leading the Flying Dutchmen to a first-place finish at the 36-hole Adrian College Irish Hills Intercollegiate last weekend in Jackson. He finished the tournament 5-under par after firing rounds of 71 and 68.
Gibson finished runner-up at the second MIAA Jamboree of the season on Tuesday, Sept. 13 after shooting 70 at Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.
