Hope College’s Claire Hallock has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for matches played May 1-7.
The freshman from Lakeland, Florida (Harrison Center HS) receives the honor for the
first time in her career after contributing two points in each of the Flying Dutch’s
MIAA semifinal and final victories last week.
Hallock helped Hope defeated Saint Mary’s 5-0 in the semifinals and Kalamazoo 5-1
in the finals and claim the MIAA’s automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Hallock posted straight-set victories at No. 3 singles against Saint Mary’s and Kalamazoo.
She also teamed with senior Christin Drozd of Allegan, Michigan (Allegan) for two
victories at No. 3 doubles.
