The Hope College football team has landed the D3football.com’s National Offensive Line of the Week for its performance during a 48-10 win against Albion College on Saturday.

Starters Tim Ivery, Jake VanderVeen, Zach Smith, Justin Fairfield, and Matt Reitsma, along with reserve Brady Eding, helped the Flying Dutchmen rush for a season-high 460 yards on Senior Day at Smith Stadium.

The group sprung three different Flying Dutchmen ballcarriers for 100-yard rushing games in the victory.

Ivery, a sophomore from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (Birmingham Brother Rice HS), played left tackle.

VanderVeen, a senior from Alto, Michigan (Caledonia), lined up at left guard.

Smith, a sophomore from Suttons Bay, Michigan (Suttons Bay), started at center.

Fairfield, a senior from North Muskegon, Michigan (North Muskegon), handled right guard.

Reitsma, a senior from Lowell, Michigan (Lowell), and Eding, a freshman from Hamilton, Michigan (Hamilton) split time at right tackle after Reitsma was injured during the game.

This is the second time in two seasons the Flying Dutchmen have claimed D3football’s Offensive Line of the Week award.
