Hope College’s Eliza Beird has been chosen as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games September 18-24.

The junior defender from Holland, Michigan (Black River HS) is honored for the first
time in her career after helping the Flying Dutch post two shutout victories last
week on both ends of the field.
Beird registered two assists in an 8-0 win at Saint Mary’s on Wednesday, September
20.
Beird also contributed to Hope’s 3-0 win against Alma on Saturday at Van Andel Soccer
Stadium. It was the Flying Dutch’s third consecutive shutout and seventh of the season.
Beird is tied for second on the Flying Dutch with three assists this season.
