Athletics

Hope College’s Megan Klintworth has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Golfer of the Week for play September 25-October 1.

The senior from Jackson, Michigan (Hanover-Horton HS) set a MIAA course record last week and averaged 77.5 strokes over two league jamborees.

Klintworth fired a 2-over-par 74 on Tuesday at Thornapple Pointe Golf Course in Grand Rapids to break the previous MIAA course record. She earned medalist honors at the event.

Klintworth shot an 81 on Saturday at Lenawee Country Club in Adrian to tie for fifth place.

This is the fourth time in Klintworth’s career she has received MIAA weekly recognition.
