The Hope College women’s and men’s indoor and outdoor track & field teams have earned All-Academic Team honors from the U.S. Track & Field & Cross Country Coaches Association for the 2016-17 season.

Coach Kevin Cole’s Flying Dutch recorded a 3.58 cumulative team GPA to receive the recognition, while his Flying Dutchmen finished with a 3.22 cumulative team GPA.

This is the 11th consecutive time both teams have achieved the USTFCCCA distinction.

A total of 183 women’s teams were honored for their academic success. To be eligible, teams must have 3.00 cumulative team GPA.

“As a coach and a professor, it is especially gratifying to see the success that my teams have had in both athletics and in the classroom,” Cole said. “I look forward to the Academic All-American announcements every year when both teams are recognized for their hard work on the track and in the classroom.”
