Athletics
As a member of the MIAA and NCAA Division III associations, Hope College sponsors 22 varsity sports for men and women. The college is home to the 2022 NCAA Division III National Championship women’s basketball team.

The Hope College volleyball team is ranked 15th in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Preseason NCAA Division III Top 25 Poll.

Coach Becky Schmidt’s Flying Dutch are coming off a 25-6 season in which they qualified for the national tournament for the ninth consecutive season.

Hope totaled 672 points in the preseason poll. The Flying Dutch finished 15th in the final poll of the 2016 season.

The Flying Dutch open the 2017 season Friday-Saturday, Sept. 1-2 at the Washington-St. Louis Bear Invitational.

Hope's home opener is Friday, Sept. 8 against Olivet.
