A total of 713 graduating seniors participated in the ceremony, held on Sunday, May
5 at 3 p.m. at Ray and Sue Smith Stadium. The class consisted of students from across
the United States and around the world.
Writer and filmmaker Frank Abe will reflect on the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II as the 2019 Asian Heritage Education and Diversity Lecture at Hope College on Thursday, March 7, at 4 p.m. in the Schaap Auditorium on the lower level of the Jim and Martie Bultman Student Center.
Hope students will hold the school’s 20th annual Dance Marathon for Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital on March 8-9. Nearly 30 student organizations and more than 950 Hope students will participate in this year’s 24-hour marathon to raise funds and awareness for the hospital’s work.
Alumni celebrated their favorite Hope memories during Alumni Weekend on April 26 and 27. Additional activities during the weekend included reunion events for the classes of 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984 and 1989, and for the Fifty-Year Circle, which consists of graduates of 50 years ago and longer as well as the presentation of the Distinguished Alumni Awards.
