The Department of Music at Hope College will host a free workshop on Saturday, Nov. 18, for high school band students who are planning — or even just considering — participating in solo and ensemble competition this year.

The “Succeed at Solo and Ensemble” event is for band students in grades nine-12 — who don’t need to be ready to perform.  It will be led by members of the Hope music faculty, who will provide tips to help the students prepare.  The workshop will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts.

Although the workshop is free, advance registration is required.  The form is available online, either through the Winds, Brass and Percussion page of the Department of Music’s website on hope.edu, or through the Nov. 18 event’s listing on the college calendar.

To inquire about accessibility or if you need accommodations to fully participate in the event, please email accommodations@hope.edu.  Updates related to events are posted when available in the individual listings at hope.edu/calendar

The Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts is located at 221 Columbia Ave., between 9th and 10th streets.
