Hope College will celebrate “One Big Weekend: Homecoming and Family Weekend” on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 25-26, with highlights including multiple events open to the public in addition to activities for alumni and the families of current students.
The weekend will include home athletic contests in men’s and women’s swimming and diving, volleyball, football, men’s soccer and club men’s ice hockey; a 5K run with proceeds supporting the student-organized Dance Marathon held on behalf of Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital; recognition of 10 young alumni who are receiving awards from the Hope College Alumni Association; a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tour at the Jim and Eileen Heeringa Dance added to the DeWitt Center; a concert featuring all of the college’s major performing ensembles; Hope College Theatre’s production of “The Hijabis”; activities for children through the Lakeshore Little Read and Lakeshore Middle Read; a “One Big Bash” party; the freshman-sophomore Nykerk Cup competition; and reunions for the graduating classes of 1984, 1994, 2004 and 2014.
