Four Hope College student-athletes have been named to the MIAA Academic Elite list for the 2025-26 academic year: senior Caroline Curnutt, and juniors Kayla Cannon, Abigail Cumings, and Zach Risley.
This MIAA Academic Elite award recognizes the student-athlete(s) with the highest GPA in each sport. For the second consecutive year, every honoree earned a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA.

Curnutt earned her honor in women’s lacrosse. The recent graduate from Fishers, Indiana
(Heritage Christian HS), majored in elementary education. She excelled as a defender,
earning MIAA Most Valuable Defensive Player accolades.
Cannon claimed her distinction in women’s soccer. The forward from Holland, Michigan
(Holland Christian HS), is an elementary education major.
Cumings received her award in both indoor and outdoor track and field. The sprinter
from Grand Rapids, Michigan (Forest Hills Central HS), majors in elementary education.
Risley earned his accolade in men’s soccer. The midfielder from Kalamazoo, Michigan
(Kalamazoo Central), is a mechanical engineering major.
