The Character Hub weaves past character initiatives more deeply into the fabric of campus and connects them to current and newly developed efforts in order to create a comprehensive and growing environment distinctly marked by gratitude and generosity.

What is Character?

Gratitude. Generosity. Integrity. These are traits that may describe a person’s character, but character is deeper than a list of traits.

The foundation of character is the personal set of principles or beliefs that shapes one’s actions. These underlying principles or beliefs may come from one’s family, friends, religion, entertainment, activities, or even social media threads. They lead one to act in certain patterns and behaviors, which can be defined as character. Character can grow over time as principles are practiced or can transform over time as beliefs change.
