Travel & Affinity Programs

Hope College discount and affinity numbers are available for both business and personal travel. Using them can lower your costs and earn you loyalty points while also providing value back to the college.

Booking a Flight

American Airlines

Register for an American Airlines account using your 1hope email address. (You’ll need to be an AAdvantage^® member to register.) This will link your personal and business profiles, allowing you to manage both with ease in one place.

Registered travelers can book business travel choosing “Business” from the “Travel type” dropdown menu. “Hope College” will appear. Search and choose flights as with any other trip. 

Delta

Join Delta SkyMiles. When you book a Delta flight, there will be a place to enter Hope’s SkyBonus number. You can also add your business ID to your personal SkyMiles account by logging in and visiting the SkyMiles tab in the top navigation bar: Manage My Account > My Profile > Other Loyalty Programs. Scroll down to Business Loyalty Program and add our SkyBonus number. This earns Hope points in addition to the points you’ll earn yourself.

You can enroll in Rapid Rewards here, or if you already have Rapid Rewards, attach your Southwest account to Hope, which makes booking easier — and Hope accumulates points that we can use to save money.

United

Register for an United Airlines MileagePlus account. (You’ll need to be an United MileagePlus® member to register.) This will link your personal and business profiles, allowing you to manage both with ease in one place. Receive up to 9% off of airfare using Hope’s negotiated rates when you select “Business Travel.”

Renting a Car

Your rental may be eligible for tax exemption in certain states. Check with the travel coordinator for more information!

Avis

Hope has negotiated rates with Avis that usually beat any rates offered by the other car rental companies. Hope earns free days for every 15 days rented. Contact the Travel Coordinator to see if there are any free days available to use for your rental.

This will attach it to the Hope discount number and will also allow family members or fellow employees to drive vehicle if necessary without adding an additional driver fee. It also helps speed up the checkin process and you shouldn’t have to wait in line at the counter.

For Hope-related business travel:

• Add your Hope College credit card to this as your primary credit card!
• If you do not have a Hope credit card but would like Hope to pay for your rental, please contact the travel coordinator to set up direct billing and sign you up for a Hope-preferred Avis number, which will help speed up the process when you arrive.

Hope has negotiated rates with Enterprise for cars. When you use this number it will give you a negotiated rate which is often less expensive than the regular rate. Sign-up for Enterprise Plus — there is no connection to the Hope discount number, but this is a way to earn points for free travel. You may still use the discount code when renting.

When traveling for business, Hope employees can receive a 7% discount rate where available. You will have to sign up for the Hilton Honors program using your hope.edu email address, but it will be attached to your personal Hilton Rewards account.
