Airport Shuttles | Transportation Services

Airport shuttles are available to and from Gerald R. Ford International Airport. They are conducted at the beginning and end of breaks in the academic calendar for the convenience of students when traveling. Prescheduled airport shuttles are for student use when traveling alone or with fellow students, and are not available to non-students such as family, faculty or staff. If there are no participants registered for the shuttle service, the airport shuttles might be subject to cancellation.

The cost is $25 per person each way and is billed directly to your student account.

Transportation Services offers rides by request to/from the Gerarld R. Ford International Airport when a ride is needed outside of the prescheduled shuttle block times.

Requested airport rides are on a request basis only and will not be confirmed until a driver has been located.

In the event a driver cannot been located, alternate airport shuttle options are Uber, Lyft and Metro Taxi.

Requested Student Airport Shuttles are for students only and are $35.00 per student, per way.

Transportation to the Grand Rapids Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) is available through a variety of providers. Below are options suggested by the Transportation Department.

Options for business-related rides to and from the airport

Reserve a vehicle from the Hope College motor pool on EMS (events.hope.edu) and find a co-worker to drive you to or from GRR. You are not permitted to leave a Hope vehicle in airport parking for an extended period of time.

Both Uber and Lyft are available. This is an option when traveling from GRR to Holland. Because there are fewer drivers in the Holland area, it isn't as good an option from Holland to GRR.
Have a friend or family member bring you and submit your mileage per the college’s expense policy.

Department Airport Shuttle Request

Reserve a spot on the airport shuttle provided by the Transportation Department. Request a department shuttle on EMS (events.hope.edu). Select Department Airport Shuttle Request.

Eligibility: Airport shuttles are provided for Hope College business purposes only and are not available for personal travel.
Reservation Process: The department in need of an airport shuttle must make the reservation through EMS (events.hope.edu).
Reservations must be made at least 14 days in advance to allow for proper scheduling. Requests received within 10 days will not be considered.
Service Limitations: Shuttle service is exclusively offered to Gerald R. Ford Airport and does not include transportation to Kalamazoo, Lansing, Detroit or Chicagoland airports.
The charge for a ride to or from the Grand Rapids airport is $200 per group of up to 10 people.

When making a reservation, the following information will be required:

Name: The full name of the traveler(s).
Cell Phone Number: A contact number where the traveler can be reached.
Date of Departure/Arrival: The scheduled date of departure and/or arrival from/to Hope College.
Airline: The name of the airline the traveler will be using.
Flight Number: The flight number of the traveler's departure and/or arriving flight.
Time of Departure or Arrival: Specify the scheduled time of departure or arrival for the flight.

Please ensure that you have all the necessary details before submitting your request. If any information is missing, it is advised to wait until all details are available before making the reservation.

Driver confirmation and contact information will be sent to the traveler(s)

Note that these shuttle times are subject to availability and may be subject to change. We recommend that you make your reservation early to secure your preferred shuttle time. Only prearranged shuttles will operate.

If a flight is delayed or canceled, please contact the shuttle driver (as found in confirmation information) to sign up for the next shuttle. If shuttles are complete for the day alternate transportation will need to be arranged by the traveler.
