Expository Writing—Four Credits

Basic college-level writing proficiency is normally acquired by taking English 113. This course is designed to encourage students to explore ideas through reading, discussion and writing. Students will grow in their ability to express their thoughts clearly and cogently in writing. Courses are topical and the area of exploration varies with the individual.

For information about effective academic writing as well as campus resources that are geared to helping students improve their writing, please refer to the writing expectations document from Spring, 2014.

Also, for a current list of topics offered in English 113 courses, please refer to the current list of course descriptions.
